General Information - Gen-Three
The Gen-Three is a handheld unit with an independent trap power operating system. This controller will work with most traps regardless of make, model, voltage or release type. The Trap Buttons control all functions of the Gen-Three including releasing of traps, menu functions, and setting of delay timers .



Turning Unit On/Off
After connecting the unit, press the On/Off button in the lower right corner once to turn the unit on. This unit turns On/Off with this same button.

Menu Functions

  • To enter the menu mode, press and hold the menu switch button located on the lower left of your unit.
  • Turn off menu by releasing the menu button.
  • To change between Menus or set Delay Timers, you must be in the Menu Mode.

Trap Buttons

  • Trap 1 button controls delay timer for Trap 1.
  • Trap 2 button controls delay timer for Trap 2.
  • The Pairs button will change the Menu Modes.

Trap Release

  • There are no delays to set when in the Trap Release Mode.
  • When you press the Trap 1 button - trap 1 fires immediately.
  • When you press the Trap 2 button - trap 2 fires immediately.
  • When you press the Pair Button both traps fire immediately.

Report Pair

  • There are two delay displays in the Report Pair Mode.
  • The left delay display is used to set the delay between the time the initial button is pushed and when the first trap fires.
  • The right delay display is used to set the delay time between the firing of trap 1 and the firing of trap 2 for a report pair.
  • When you press the Trap 1 button - trap 1 will fire after the elapsed time set on the left delay display.
  • When you press the Trap 2 button - trap 2 fires after the elapsed time set on the left delay display.
  • When you press the Pair Button, trap 1 fires after the elapsed time set on the left delay display and trap 2 fires after the elapsed time set on the right delay display.

True Pair

  • There is one delay display for the True Pair Mode.
  • The left delay display is used to set the delay between the time the initial button is pushed and when the first trap fires.
  • When you press the Trap 1 button - trap 1 fires after the elapsed time set on the left delay display.
  • When you press the Trap 2 button - trap 2 fires after the elapsed time set on the left delay display.
  • When you press the Pair Button - trap 1 and trap 2 fire simultaneously after the elapsed time set on the left delay display.

Following Pair - Trap 1
There are two delay times to set in the Following Pair 1 Mode.

  1. The left delay display is used to set the delay between the time the initial button is pushed and when the first bird fires from trap 1.
  2. The right delay display is used to set the delay between the firing of the first bird from trap 1 and the firing of the second bird from trap 1.
    • When you press the Trap 1 button - trap 1 fires after the elapsed time set on the left delay display.
    • When you press the Pair Button - trap 1 fires the first bird after the elapsed time set on the left delay display and then fires the second bird after the elapsed time set on the right delay display.

Following Pair - Trap 2
There are two delay times to set in the Following Pair 2 Mode.

  1. The left delay display is used to set the delay between the time the initial button is pushed and when the first bird fires from trap 2.
  2. The right delay display is used to set the delay between the firing of the first bird from trap 2 and the firing of the second bird from trap 2.
    • When you press the Trap 2 button - trap 2 fires after the elapsed time set on the left delay display.
    • When you press the Pair Button - trap 2 fires the first bird after the elapsed time set on the left delay display and then fires the second bird after the elapsed time set on the right delay display.

Reset Pack Use
Resetting Daily Totals:

  1. Plug the Gen-Three Unit into a Gen-Three Reset Pack. Turn the wwitch to "R" for reading the information and "S" for resetting the counter to "0"
  2. Press the Menu button and hold on .
  3. Press the Pair button and hold ON for 15 seconds. A daily reset screen will be displayed.
  4. To clear this screen, release both Pair and Menu buttons.

Obtaining Grand Totals:
The grand total is the number of birds thrown from the Gen-Three unit.

  1. Press the menu button and hold on.
  2. Press the Trap 1 button and hold ON for 15 seconds. A Grand Total view screen will be displayed.
  3. To clear the unit, release both the Menu and Trap 1 buttons and switch the unit off for 3 to 5 seconds. Turn unit back on to resume normal operation.

Changing Programs from Timed Trap Release to Trap Release:

  1. Plug the Gen-Three unit into the Reset Pack.
  2. Press the menu button and hold on.
  3. Set Menu to Trap Release. \
  4. Press and hold the Trap 2 button ON for 15 seconds. This will change the Gen-Three unit from Program #1 (Timed) to Program #2 (Trap Release Only Mode).
  5. To clear the Program Change Screen, turn the Gen-Three unit off for 3 to 5 seconds. Turning your controller back on with the new Program installed.

To reverse this Mode

  1. Hold the Menu button down displaying the Reset Screen.
  2. At this screen all unit clearing functions can be preformed for the Trap Release Mode (Grand totals, Daily totals, plus changing back to Timed Trap Release Mode).
